Fair Share Market started as an idea to support local artisans and producers in five mission initiative countries supported by GBGM Asia Pacific Regional Office, namely Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam. These local artisans from underprivileged communities, especially women are directly impacted by inequality and exploitation. Their products are bought by ‘middlemen’ for a very cheap price and sold for many times over the procured price. These artisans often have no job security nor a suitable working environment. We find this way of business exploitative and unfair.
